STORY: A new client of ours had sent this to us desperate for help after their beloved 2-yr old male #dogoargentino (who they had since he was a puppy; raised with the whole family) attacked his teenage daughter. She ended up in the hospital with a long road to recovery but luckily survived. A situation that could have been 100% avoided if they had invested in training much earlier. They ultimately after thinking it over, decided to just get rid of the dog. I know that life can get in the way for all of us, but many times people just don’t pay attention (or brush off) small behavioral red flags for a long time until things eventually hit a tipping point, and the dog “all of a sudden snaps”. This is NEVER all of a sudden or out of the blue. There are ALWAYS many signs before-hand that lead up to a horrific event like this. Don’t ignore them!! It is very important to invest in proper training from the very beginning. Some people can’t afford training. Remember that good training ain’t cheap and cheap training ain’t good. . Then there are people who don’t think they need any real training … until something like this or worse happens. With any dog, especially with large powerful working breeds, it is CRUCIAL that you seek professional guidance from an experienced trainer so you can learn not just how to train your dog obedience but also teach them clear boundaries correctly , provide solid structure, set a strong foundation early on, learn to understand their body language as they mature, what certain things mean and how to properly handle / manage them.
