Chicago School Mom Uses Pepper Spray To Start Classroom Fight: Police
Police said a parent of a Chicago Bulls Prep School student walked into a classroom and began spraying pepper spray, injuring four people.
Two people were sent to Chicago hospitals and four others refused medical treatment after a large fight at a high school on the city’s Near West Side on Friday led to the release of a chemical agent, Chicago Fire officials said.
The fight broke out shortly after 12:30 p.m. at Chicago Bulls College Prep School on West Adams Street, Chicago Fire officials said in a social media post.
There were no further details about the four people who refused medical treatment by the fire department. But the social media students said that students were released for the day after the large disturbance.
Five ambulances were dispatched to the school due to the release of the chemical agent, which school officials said was pepper spray.
Chicago Police said on Friday night that the commotion began when an adult woman walked into the school, and then into a classroom and discharged a chemical spray.

The woman was taken into custody and faces criminal charges, police said.
Noble Schools, the director of Chicago Bulls College Prep, said the woman is the mother of one of the prep school’s students. He said that the school went into soft lockdown after the parent instigated an altercation during class.

” At this point, the parent instigated an altercation with a small group of students and used pepper spray toward both students and staff,” the administrator said in the school statement. We then contacted authorities and initiated a soft lockdown to ensure everyone’s safety. The parent was then escorted out of the building by our campus security staff and then was arrested by the Chicago Police Department.
Two staff members were impacted by the pepper spray and transported to a hospital by ambulance. One student was later transported to the hospital by their family, the official said.
“We are grateful for the swift action of our staff members to de-escalate the situation, and their continued commitment to provide a safe learning environment,” the school’s statement said.
