A traffic stop along the New York State Thruway in Mamaroneck turned into a chain-reaction crash on March 15, 2026, sending a state trooper to the hospital with minor injuries.
Shortly after 5 a.m., two New York State Police troopers had stopped a 2025 Mercedes sedan on the right shoulder of the Thruway. The Mercedes was driven by 52-year-old from Connecticut.
Troopers were standing near the Mercedes when a 2007 Chevy Suburban, driven by 24-year-old Kevin Ariel Cunache Moyolema of Connecticut, rear-ended the patrol car. The patrol car was pushed into the Mercedes, and the Mercedes then hit one of the troopers.
