Police released footage of a ram raid in Westfield Woden earlier this month, before later announcing both of the suspects alleged to be involved in the incident had been arrested.

ACT Policing said a Subaru Outback had been reported as stolen from a home in Braddon in November 2024.

Then at about 3:20 am on 6 December, two men were caught on CCTV using the allegedly stolen car to drive inside the Woden mall by smashing through a front door, causing significant damage.

The pair drove through the mall before also smashing through the glass doors of a Cash Converters store.

Once inside, one of the men stole an e-tricycle and rode off on it, while the other man used the Subaru to drive away.

On 7 December, police arrested a 48-year-old man from Braddon over the incident.

He was charged with joint commission aggravated burglary and theft, driving a motor vehicle without consent, using a number plate issued for another vehicle and unlawfully possessing stolen property.

He has already faced the ACT Magistrates Court.

Then earlier this week, police raided a home in Braddon where they allegedly found clothes that connected a second man to the incident.

This man, also aged 48, was found in the same suburb on Thursday (12 December) and arrested before he faced the Magistrates Court on Friday (13 December).

He was charged with joint commission aggravated burglary, theft, damage property and unlawful possession of stolen property, as well as driving a motor vehicle without consent, using a numberplate issued for another vehicle and being an unlicenced driver.
