STORY: I was assaulted by this man in the grey shirt at Kroger in Benton tonight. As I was leaving the store, he bumped into me. His girlfriend, wearing the black shirt, apologized, but he immediately became aggressive, shouting derogatory names at me and saying, “don’t apologize to that black b***.”
I walked to my car to avoid further confrontation, but he followed me to my car & kept calling me deregatory names. He threatened to slash my tires, and even swung at me. Thankfully, the man in the green shirt intervened to stop him, but the attacker then turned on him as well.
I stopped recording to call the police, and the man left shortly afterward. Benton PD arrived about ten minutes later with ZERO sense of urgency.
I’m beyond grateful to the man in the green shirt and the other bystanders who stepped in and stayed with me to make sure I was safe.
