ARMED ROBBERY ATTEMPT ENDS IN SHOOTING IN ILLINOIS A concealed-carry license holder reportedly shot an armed person during an attempted robbery at a Shell gas station in Orland Park, a suburb of Chicago. According to Orland Park Police, the incident happened around 9 a.m. Tuesday while the victim was pumping gas. Police said the intended robbery victim had a valid Illinois Concealed Carry License (CCL). Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting
a masked person walking up to a customer who was pumping gas at the family-owned station. Naseem Elmosa, whose family owns the business, said the person appeared to be armed.
“He was masked. It was clear on plain view sight that this person, he was armed, of course,” Elmosa said.
According to Elmosa, surveillance footage from one of the station’s many security cameras show the masked person calmly approaching the customer before pulling out what appeared to be a handgun.
Within seconds, the customer reached behind his back, pulled a gun from his waistband, and fired at least two shots. The footage appears to show the masked person dropping a weapon before running away.
Orland Park police described the incident as an attempted armed holdup and confirmed that the customer who fired the gun is an Illinois Concealed-Carry License holder.
